Burnham's Field is about to undergo its first major renovation in 30 years. The project will include new playground equipment, swings, new fences, a walking loop, lighted paths, benches, a spray fountain for kids, trees and other improvements.
The Friends of Burnham's Field is made up of friends, families and neighbors who want to make the renovation the best it can be and are committed to continuing to maintaining and caring for the field. Our goal is to make Burnham's Field a park and playground Gloucester can be proud of for generations to come.
The renovation project has been generously supported by the City of Gloucester, the Gloucester Open Space and Recreation Committee, the Gloucester Community Preservation Committee, State Sen. Bruce E. Tarr, the state Department of Environmental Protection and federal Community Development Block Grants.
